Transformation #5 Deva curl cut and virgin bleach

Mary is a hard working mama of 2, and architect on the side. She is very involved in a cool organization called Apple Seeds that brings local produce into public school cafeterias. She has always wanted to do something fun and wild with her hair, and volunteered to be a part of this series.

I started by giving her a short Deva cut, then bleached her and toned her. I decided to style her straight, because it often takes curls some time to adjust to being bleached, and they were not ready to behave. I loaded her hair up with Easy Rider by KM, to moisturize and give her some styling power and protection before styling.

Love this look on Mary, and glad to be able to introduce her to being a platinum blonde. This is a great color scheme for short hair, and can be easily buzzed off with a #4 on the clippers for a true platinum pixie, which looks fantastic with grown out roots.

If you are a DIY hair-cutter who is curious about DIY home-hair coloring, I highly recommend using DIY hair color by Madison Reed, which Resorcinol-Free.

If you purchase a Madison Reed Radiant Color Kit, you will receive not only the colors of hair colors your choice, but also the necessary tools to apply it. The entire line is designed for the DIY hair colorer! And if you need to tone in between coloring, be sure to check out their Color Reviving Gloss to refresh and revive your hair.

Also, I recommend a shopping stop at Beauty Store Depot for all your other DIY hair cutting and coloring tools to fill your toolkit!
