Big Bow scarf turban, DIY crafternoon.

It’s a rainy Friday, and My baby has been napping for 3 hours, so I’m in crafternoon frenzy mode. I began by making Witch inspired crystal and leather fringe-y things.

Then, I decided to switch to something more easy DIY hair relevant that I could share with all of you.

There is a valuable little trick I know, called the Big Bow scarf turban. I love this handy little trick because when I’m lazy, tired, or my hair is yuck, I can throw it on and look like I’m actually trying.

Here is how to do it. Start with a large-ish square scarf. Have a piece of string, ribbon, or leather to secure it with. Lay out your scarf, and carefully fold 2 opposite corners in towards the center. Then fold them again, to make a long and narrow folded strip.

Then, fold both long ends in about 6 inches.

Now, fold the whole thing in half again.

Lay the ribbon or string under the scarf, 5 inches or so from the top. There should be about 2/3 rd’s on the bottom, and 1/3rd on the top.

Tie the string ribbon tightly to make the bow. Then open up the bow and wrap the ribbon around the middle of the bow a couple times to secure it.

Now, pull out the scarf ends a bit and wrap them around the ribbon to hide it. Tie them, and you’re done! Here is another cute way to rock your Big Bow scarf turban.

Or, you can make a sock bun and wrap your turban twice around the base! And For more sock bun styles, check this fun post out!

What’s your favorite scarf trick?
