As you know, I am a hairdresser who is also ShamPHree which technically puts me at the crux of fringe-y and counter industry. I love ShamPHree because it works for me and is in alignment with my industrious DIY pioneer woman hair loving values. I also love great socially responsible hair products. I rarely use them personally because my hair is quite happy as-is. However, I use hair products constantly in-salon on my clients.
I work at a great Seattle Salon called Vain. I adore this salon for many reasons, two of them being their commitment to social responsibility and their commitment to great hair. When I am at Vain, I use Onesta products on my clients. Here is why I started….
The cover of their instructional booklet says……”Free yourself from harmful chemicals…..”
I love to be free of chemicals! #freeyourhair.
Open the booklet to page one…….”Onesta haircare was developed as an alternative to products that use potentially harmful chemicals in their formulations. Most manufacturers are using formulation technology that was developed 20 or 30 years ago. Believed to be acceptable then, it may be cause for concern now. Many shampoos today commonly contain cleaning agents such as sodium lauryl sulfate that strip away body and color, leaving hair dried out and dull…….”
I liked the sound of this, so I started using these products exclusively on my clients. Here is what I noticed….
Onesta products smell great, to begin with. They are all very thick and creamy, which I like a lot because cream makes me think of moisture, and thick makes me think that the products are not diluted or watered down. A little goes a long way with Onesta products, which speaks to their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, rather than their desire to make a pretty buck$$ of their customers.
After shampooing with Onesta Hydrating Shampoo, the hair feels soft and even, consistent from root to ends without any residue left behind after conditioning. Before blow-drying, I like to use a touch of Onesta Smooth and Shine for a lovely touchable blow out, or a pretty not-overly polished but frizz-free rough dry. For a texture boost, a couple spritzes of Onesta Create does the job perfectly on fine and coarse hair alike. 3 products, all with great results, and I’m sold on the line.
So then, I checked out their website. I found this page which offers a run-down about some of the great science behind the line ( I am a sucker for good science, especially plant science and cosmetic science.) Sold even more.
Today, because I can personally attest to the quality and stand behind this fabulous line, I offer you a chance to WIN 3 of Onesta’s bestselling products! Here on HTHG, Onesta and I are excited to giveaway a little tote bag filled to the brim with Onesta Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, and a Smooth and Shine Thermal Straightening Creme!
Best of luck, and remember to do your beauty research when choosing products that you use on your hair and body. Using product lines like Onesta can help you feel good about your personal beauty choices. Here is a link to their Salon Finder to help you locate your nearest Onesta Salon.
*bonus……If you are a fair-weather ShamPHree-er, the Onesta line is a great one to use in between ShamPHrees because their products don’t build up on the hair over time!
