A fun little angled pixie bob

Mariah is a farmer, midwife, and a mama.  She and her husband and 2 boys have a 10 acre farm that is in town, on a hilltop so it feels like they are way out in the country. Summer Kitchen Farm is a local family run dairy farm, they raise pigs and cows for meat, and they have a giant garden. They do a veggie, milk, meat, egg CSA. Major bonus for me: I got paid for this cut in a dozen eggs, 3 pounds of ground beef, and a steak the size of a large dinner plate!

Cutting Mariah’s super thick, wavy, medium textured hair is fun because when length and weight is removed, it really comes alive with curl and texture. This is the case with most thick hair. It gets so heavy when its long and grown out that it just weighs itself down and becomes a thick mass with no movement, shape, or texture.

This little choppy bob is almost pixied in the back, with a deep angle and some disconnected pieces that are long around her face to create drama and softness. The length around the face is a “safety blanket” for many people who are nervous about going short, and this cut is the perfect antidote.

This cut grows out famously, and is a great stepping stone between long hair and very short hair. It is one of my most frequently done cuts and has been since I started doing hair. It is totally timeless and can work with many hair types. It can easily be modified to be less dramatic and more tame, or much more dramatic.

This is definately a cut that I will do a tutorial on for my premium subscribers in the coming months. Stay on the lookout!
