Curl cut for good grow out

Here’s Holly’s hair, before and after trim and reshaping. She has gorgeous, thick curls. She has grown it out from a chin length bob, and hasn’t had it cut or reshaped in over year. She came in wanting a cut that would get it into that long layers shape to that she could grow it out long without having to reshape it for another year.

She had a good inch and a half that needed to be taken off, but the general shape of it was what needed work. It had grown so heavy on the ends that it was pulling all the curl out of the top section. She wanted to lose as little length as possible.

We decided that more layers throughout would give her more bounce and lighten it up, evening out her curl flow from top to bottom. A little bit of texturizing to remove bulk from her curls was in order, to make room for them to move more freely. She wanted just a little face framing, but mostly just a more rounded shape across the back that would grow out beautifully. She got it! I predict she gets a ton of mileage out of this cut, as it grows down her back into long bouncy layers.
