Hair transformation series #1-Blue it up.

Rya was bored with her hair. Shes been growing it out for quite a while and it had reached that awkward and uninspired stage. She so kindly offered her hair to me for my Stuck in hair, Stuckin life transformation series. She is the mama of three daughters, who came along and were obviously quite envious of the fact that it was mamas turn for some fun:)

I wanted to transform her hair, but had to keep in mind that she wanted to grow it out. So, we started with her color. I did a star pattern foil around her crown

I put bleach in the foils, then used 2 different colors for the top and the underneath. Then, I went back over the bleaches foil sections with Fishbowl, Special Effects. Blue is a brilliant color to put in hair. It pretty much compliments everything, and fades out through a mythical range of sky-and-sea unicorn colors.

For her cut, I gave her bob a bit more of an angle, shorter layering in the back, longer in the front. I took weight out of it with this technique. I used my asymmetrical choppy bangs technique for her fringe.

This cut will grow out wonderfully. When it hits her shoulders, it will be swingy and shaped really nicely around her face and neck. The blue will have faded out to ombre-esque blonde highlights in her ends, adding a bit of intrigue and contrast to her look.

I predict a pretty seamless grow out experience, made a bit more colorful with the help of HTHG.
