Twisted Lady Hairstyle

pretty twistHi friends. Here is a tutorial for you from the cutting room floor, that I just stumbled upon. It made me wonder why I haven’t posted it sooner, and why I decided to cut my hair.

What is is about cutting bangs that is so cathartic that we forget how annoying they are to have? I basically wear a hat daily now. And remember my no-bang longer hair days. But oh well, there are more important things in life than hair, right? Anybody?

Anyhow, this twisted hairstyle is lovely and soft and genius for shortish-medium length dirty-haired people because as we know, the dirtier our hair is, the easier it is to style and the better it looks and behaves:) And we can’t all have long hair all the time.

If you need to dirty your hair up a bit so that this hairstyle is easier to do and sticks around longer, spray your hair down with Masterbraider. You will also need several small bobby pins. And take a little refresher on How to Pin a Twist Into Place:)

Begin by parting the hair where you usually do in the front. Take a section of hair from one side of your part and twist it back, twisting the entire section a couple of times ( Not tight enough to coil up, though.)

Bring your twisted section across the back of the head, and pin it into the hair, slightly farther than the center.

Repeat with a section of hair from the other side of the part. Overlap the twists in back, and pin your second twist into the head securely.

Now take another section of hair from below the first section, twist it back, overlap and pin it in the back over your last twist.

Repeat on the other side. Continue working down the back of the head in sections, twisting, overlapping and pinning. Once you reach the bottom of the hairline, take the last free section of hair, twist it into a loose bun, and pin it over your last overlap.

Now gently pull at your twists from the sides a bit to loosen the ‘do. Add more pins as needed.
