Hi babes….I tried something new last week. I painted color directly onto the surface of Marley’s hair as it fell naturally. I worked the color in nice and thick, using my brushstrokes to saturate through the top layer. I blended colors together as I worked in a circle towards her ends. At the ends, I really worked the color in with my hands. Then, I combed it thoroughly with a fine toothed comb, and reapplied color to spots that needed more saturation. No partings, no mess. 
Was so super fun and turned out incredible, with color vibrant at the surface and getting more shadowy in the depthWhen I asked her if I could color her hair, she rolled her eyes and said ‘no mom, not into it today. ‘ Then, a bit later she said ‘okay. Fine. You can color my hair. But it better be incredible.’

That same day, I painted my sisters hair. She was leaving town the next day for a science conference and wanted something that wasn’t going to be too loud, but definitely wanted to make a statement. We went with Burnt Orange and Dusty Purple. I loved how the warm and the cool together contrasted perfectly to create an understated yet still very eye-catching palate.
