One day, in the mail, came a box. It was from a company that found me through my PRIMP partnership. (THANKS ladies:) This company matches up products with appropriate beauty bloggers to try out and review. As you know, I can be a bit of a product skeptic, but I am never opposed to trying a new one.

I opened the box and started digging around. What I pulled out was a literal motherload of products. One by one, out came close to 20 2 oz amber tincture bottles. Nice to meet you, Maijan!

First impression……I love tincture bottles. They make me feel safe and wholesome. Next impression……First product I pulled out was the Hemp and Argan hair and skin oil. I opened it. It was thick and rich and green and smelled faintly of dank, healthy ganja. First ingredient, Organic cannabis sativa oil. Here is an article on the benefits of Hemp oil for the hair.

People, ladies and men, I proclaim right now that I believe in the power of the hemp plant for beauty and remedy and health and fiber. Also, I believe that a product that is formulated for use on both hair and skin is always a good bet. I am a sucker for 2 in 1’s.

I pulled out more products. Organic mustard seed and Argan oil. Argan oil treatment with geranium, llang llang, and rosewood. Smelled natural and heavenly. A whole line of baby oil products. Way to go, Maijan.

In their press packet, I learned that Maijan products are Argan oil based. They are vegan and never tested animals. And all their oils are infused with natural essential oils used in ayurvedic tradition. I definitely trust ancient sanskrit when it comes to beauty and health.

This mysterious oil burst onto the beauty scene a couple of years back with Morroconoil, the scrumulicious smelling brown light-weight oil that turns hair into smooth and shining perfect butter. Marketed as Argan Beauty Oil, Morroconoil has fooled many of us into thinking that the key to unlocking our most beautiful and healthy hair is the fine oil of this rare African nut. Problem is, Morroconoil is more dimethicone and petroleum-derived fragrance than Argan oil. But I’m not knocking it. People swear up and down by this stuff. I leave work after 10 hours of blow-outs with Morroconoil and the smell has worked its way into my skin ( And probably my bloodstream) and I literally can’t get it off of me. Again, not knocking it. Just saying.
