A few months back, I read a feature in Nylon magazine about Alexis Krauss (of Sleigh Bells fame) and Jessica Assaf, and their awesome new blog, where they talk about beauty industry lies and truths, and how we can take our beauty power back into our own hands and demand safer and better products.

I was very excited to read about them, because they are talking about something that is very important important to me here at HTHG…..Big Beauty Reform, and the return of our ‘sense of beauty’ back into our hands, and out of the hands of those who seek to make a profit off our insecurities about our bodies while potentially poisoning us with nasty unregulated chemicals. WE BELIEVE THAT WOMEN SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CHOOSE BEAUTY OVER HEALTH.

WE BELIEVE THAT U.S. PRODUCTS CAN BE FORMULATED EFFECTIVELY WITHOUT ANY OF THE 1,373 SUBSTANCES PROHIBITED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION.

WE BELIEVE THAT THE FDA SHOULD REEVALUATE THEIR LACK OF REGULATIONS & REQUIRE PREMARKET APPROVAL.

WE BELIEVE THAT COMPANIES SHOULD LIST EVERY SINGLE INGREDIENT ON THEIR PRODUCT LABELS & BE FULLY TRANSPARENT ABOUT THEIR SOURCES.

WE BELIEVE THAT THE BEST PRODUCTS CONTAIN SAFE & EFFECTIVE INGREDIENTS & ARE PACKAGED SUSTAINABLY.

WE BELIEVE THAT ALL WOMEN SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO THE SAFEST, HIGHEST-PERFORMING, & MOST AFFORDABLE PRODUCTS POSSIBLE.

WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF CONSUMERS TO MAKE THESE STANDARDS UNIVERSAL!
