Hi everyone. I am blogging at you from my extended summer vacation. My 2 daughters Mars and Selah and my main squeeze Jonny hit the road last week to kick of a 8 week vacation from the daily grind.
This last year has been a doozy on all counts, and despite the impracticalities of leaving our home, our businesses and our lives as we know them, here we are.
Kansas City is our first stop. Then Chicago, and on to Seattle. It feels very important to me to shake things up a bit for the sake of my sanity and in the interest of building interesting content for HTHG. I get to feeling limited in NWA, and start to ache for more of an urban landscape to help inspire my creative juices for hair and fashion and self expression.
Funny though, the inspiration often comes when I least expect it to. Like when I’m sitting by a lake in the middle of a grassy meadow on 1200 acres, trying too figure out how to braid prairie grass into my hair. Or exploring abandoned grain silos in rural Kansas. This land is rich with wonder, and I’m looking forward to translating the wonder that I stumble upon into cool hair. Can it be done???? Stay tuned to find out.
