They are located in downtown Lisbon. There blog is really fun to look at. I love that they give insane hairstyles to normal looking people from all walks of life. Get ready for the unexpected. While we are on the subject of Hair Salon blogs, please check out the Vain blog, from the fantastic salon that I work at. This blog is just straight up Hair from the streets of London. No styling, editing, prepping. Nothing. Just random people and their hair. Can’t get enough. The photography is beautiful and the subjects are captivating. The hair is the jewel in the crown.

Next up is the Bobby Pin blog. This blog is a beautiful tribute to vintage hairstyling. I visit this blog for historical hair information as well as general vintage hairstyling inspiration.Screen Shot 2013-11-24 at 8.29.40 PM Screen Shot 2013-11-24 at 8.30.11 PM Screen Shot 2013-11-24 at 8.30.00 PM Lauren from the Bobby Pin blog wrote a gorgeous book that I consider the bible of Vintage hairstyling. Check her out and go back in time and learn about the art and science of vintage hairstyling.

When it comes to natural curly hair care and styling, no one does it quite like Curly Nikki. Screen Shot 2013-11-25 at 12.43.40 PM Screen Shot 2013-11-25 at 12.44.04 PMNikki is a natural hair advocate and a therapist and gives thoughtful and informative advice to women who are Screen Shot 2013-11-25 at 12.43.30 PMconsidering going natural with their hair. Her blog is a goldmine of positive natural hair stories and solutions. I go to her for curly tricks and natural ingredient knowledge. Also, her book Better Than Good Hair: The Curly Girl Guide to Healthy, Gorgeous Natural Hair is fantastic.

Screen Shot 2013-11-25 at 12.48.54 PMStylenoted is a fun blog to check out for cutting edge hair tricks going on in the world of professional hairstyling. My only complaint? They haven’t Stylenoted anything from HTHG;)

I can’t talk about hair blogs without shouting out to Christina at Hairromance.

Her blog is the leader of all prettiness when it comes to DIY hairstyling. Her braids and twist and pin styles are flawless. If only we all had such pretty hair! That saavy Aussie chic is killing it with her blog. Check out www.hairromance.com, and purchase her hairstyle E-book from the HTHG ad sidebar! It is totally worth it:)

Screen Shot 2013-11-25 at 1.01.50 PM Screen Shot 2013-11-25 at 1.02.06 PMHairdresser on Fire was my first introduction to Hair blogging. I loved her blog because she had a quirky and natural voice and I like the way she does hair. Reagan at HDOF helped me see that it is cooler to be yourself as a blogger than to try to have really great technical content. Thanks, girl. High five. The salon she works for is called Whittemore house and  it looks pretty cool too in a weird steam-punkish way. I’d like to check it out next time I’m in NYC.

I watched her work last year at the Oregon Country Fair and she blew my mind. Her website and book will give you an Ivy League education on intricate braiding techniques. Check her out for gorgeous and ornate hairstyles fit for Medieval royalty.

I want to take a sec now to recognize some great hairdressers who’s work I follow on instagram. Tanya at @untamedinstict is a technicolor hair magician and @whiterose_teddi is an editorial and all round amazing hairstylist. @Jenniferzillioto is the master mind behind Naked Eye Beauty, and an upcoming L.A. hairstylist to watch out for. There are so many more. If I think of them, I’ll add them to my list to share.

I want to thank all of these cool woman for sharing their art and their hair with the world.

xo, HTHG
